## Description

[Ingot (Constantan)](/wiki/ingot-constantan) is a metal alloy. It is used in crafting of various [ship parts](/wiki/categoryship-parts) and items. It is closely related to its real-life analogue Constantan, that is notable for its stable (hence the name) electric resistance under the wide range ot temperatures. As such, it is used in variety of advanced electric equipment and devices required to reliably operate under variable thermal conditions.

## Obtaining

It is created by smelting equal parts [Copper](/wiki/copper-ore) and [Nickel](/wiki/nickel-ore) in a [Furnace](/wiki/furnace). While it had originally a narrow temperature range for smelting, it now is a *high-pressure* alloy for the standard Furnace. Production simply involves the ignition of a sufficient (relatively high) amount of fuel for a concurrent growth of heat and pressure within the chamber. Using the [Advanced Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace) with pure [Fuel](/wiki/fuel) gas mixture, a player can balance the reaction with some inert gas injection, but in early game involving ice-based fuel mixture, it is practically superfluous.
