## Description

[Ingot (Stellite)](/wiki/ingot-stellite) is an super alloy, that functions as a stronger version of [Silicon](/wiki/silicon) glass. It is used in crafting of various [Rocket](/wiki/rocket) parts and [Hardsuit](/wiki/hardsuit) pieces. On top of that, [Stellite Glass Sheet](/wiki/stellite-glass-sheet)s are used as paneling for Reinforced Windows and storm-resistant working surfaces for Angled Heavy [Solar Panel](/wiki/solar-panel)s.

NOTE: Pressure and Temp requirements were changed in the December 2020 Blown Away update.

## Obtaining

It is created by smelting a ratio of 2:1:1 using [Silicon](/wiki/silicon), [Silver](/wiki/silver) and [Cobalt](/wiki/cobalt) in the [Advanced Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace). A practical recipe for making Stellite is  2 [Volatile Ice](/wiki/ice-volatiles) and 1 [Oxite](/wiki/ice-oxite) followed by 50 Silver Ore, 50 Cobalt Ore and 100 Silicon Ore in the [Advanced Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace).

The primary challenge in smelting Stellite is the temperature requirement.  The more ore you include in the batch, the more heat will be lost in liquifying the ore.  Using a 100:50:50 mix will drive the temperature below 1800 K and you will end up with several lumps of [Reagent Mix](/wiki/reagent-mix).  50:25:25 will leave the temperature high enough to properly form the alloy. It is recommended to use [Volatiles](/wiki/volatiles) and [Nitrous Oxide](/wiki/nitrous-oxide) mixed at a 1:1 ratio in the [Advanced Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace).


NOTE: Since the "Phase Change" update in July 2023, Stellite can now be made using a perfect fuel mix (2:1) of Volatiles and Oxygen, relying on the additional combustion of the 1:1 ratio of N20 and Volatiles released from non-degassed Cobalt and Silver Ore. (1 mol per ore)


NOTE: January StationEARS update reduced the yields from smelting super alloys. 2 [Silicon](/wiki/silicon), 1 [Silver](/wiki/silver), and 1 [Cobalt](/wiki/cobalt) will now return only 1 [Ingot (Stellite)](/wiki/ingot-stellite).
