## Obtaining

[Ore (Silicon)](/wiki/ore-silicon) is a common [ore](/wiki/ores) that can be mined throughout the surface and underground of a planet or an asteroid using a [Mining Drill](/wiki/mining-drill) or [Pickaxe](/wiki/pickaxe). It can also be obtained by processing [dirty ore](/wiki/dirty-ore) from a [Deep Miner](/wiki/deep-miner) using a [Centrifuge](/wiki/centrifuge) or [Combustion Centrifuge](/wiki/combustion-centrifuge). Since Dirty Ore consists exclusively of Silicon, it can be also tossed into the Furnace directly without the necessity to process it, which will convert it into the Silicon Ore.

## Processing

Silicon ore can be turned into [silicon ingots](/wiki/silicon-ingot) by smelting it in an [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace), [Furnace](/wiki/furnace), or [Advanced Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace). Silicon is also an ingredient in [Stellite](/wiki/stellite).

Smelting in an Arc Furnace requires 100 Energy. Using a Furnace or Advanced Furnace requires the following conditions:
