Ores are smeltable and all of them have an ingot version except for cobalt, which is used in combination with other ores to create alloys. They will release small amounts of gases while smelting. The Arc furnace will release these gases into the atmosphere, and the standard furnace and advanced furnaces will each hold the gases inside.

## Ores
### Cobalt
[Ore (Cobalt)](/wiki/ore-cobalt) is mined throughout the surface and underground of a planet or an asteroid using a Mining Drill.
There is currently no recipe to make Ingot (Cobalt). It can be combined in the Advanced Furnace to create the advanced alloys Ingot (Astroloy), Ingot (Hastelloy) and Ingot (Stellite). Only Ingot (Astroloy) has a use so far to make the Tool Printer Mod and the AIMEe, so it is a rarely needed material.
### Copper
[Copper Ore](/wiki/copper-ore) can be turned into [Copper Ingot](/wiki/copper-ingot) by smelting it in an [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace) or [Furnace](/wiki/furnace). Copper Ore can also be combined with equal amounts [Nickel Ore](/wiki/nickel-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Constantan Ingot](/wiki/constantan-ingot).
### Gold
[Gold Ore](/wiki/gold-ore) can be turned into [Gold Ingot](/wiki/gold-ingot) by smelting it in a [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) or [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace).
Gold Ore can also be combined with equal amounts of [Silver Ore](/wiki/silver-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Electrum Ingot](/wiki/electrum-ingot).
### Iron
[Iron Ore](/wiki/iron-ore) can be turned into an [Iron Ingot](/wiki/iron-ingot) by smelting it in an [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace) or [Furnace](/wiki/furnace). It can be smelted into [Steel Ingot](/wiki/steel-ingot) using [Coal](/wiki/coal-ore) and [Iron Ore](/wiki/iron-ore) in a Furnace (not Arc Furnace) that has [Oxygen](/wiki/ice-oxite) and gas from [Ice (Volatiles)](/wiki/ice-volatiles).
### Lead
[Lead Ore](/wiki/lead-ore) can be smelted into [Lead Ingot](/wiki/lead-ingot)s by placing it in a [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace) or [Furnace](/wiki/furnace). It can also be combined with equal amounts [Iron Ore](/wiki/iron-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Solder Ingot](/wiki/solder-ingot)s.
### Nickel
[Nickel Ore](/wiki/nickel-ore) is one of ingame [Ores](https://stationeers-wiki.com/Main_Page#Ores). It can be turned into [Nickel Ingot](/wiki/nickel-ingot) by smelting it in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) or [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace). [Nickel Ore](/wiki/nickel-ore) can also be combined with equal amounts of [Copper Ore](/wiki/copper-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Constantan Ingot](/wiki/constantan-ingot).
### Silicon
[Silicon Ore](/wiki/silicon-ore) can be turn into [Silicon Ingot](/wiki/silicon-ingot) using an [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace) or [Furnace](/wiki/furnace).
### Silver
It can be turned into [Silver Ingot](/wiki/silver-ingot) by smelting it in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) or [Arc Furnace](/wiki/arc-furnace). [Silver Ore](/wiki/silver-ore) can also be combined with equal amounts [Gold Ore](/wiki/gold-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Electrum Ingot](/wiki/electrum-ingot).
## Reagent Mix
Reagent Mix is mixture of different materials. The Reagent Mix chunk is the output of the [Recycler](/wiki/recycler). The Reagent mix can then be placed directly into the [Centrifuge](/wiki/centrifuge) and will be sorted into basic ores and more Reagent mix if the mix contains any alloys or superalloys. These mixes that can not be sorted by the Centrifuge must be smelted in the [furnace](/wiki/furnace) or [Adv. Furnace](/wiki/advanced-furnace) to reclaim the alloys.
## Solid Fuel
### Coal
Coal can be used as low-level fuel to generate power in the [Solid Fuel Generator](/wiki/kit-solid-generator). Coal can be combined with [Iron Ore](/wiki/iron-ore) in the [Furnace](/wiki/furnace) to create [Steel Ingot](/wiki/steel-ingot). When burned, coal provides sizable 40 kJ of power per unit. However, burning it indoors can be a bad idea, as it generates pollution that is bad for the Player's health.
It can also be placed in the [Reagent Processor](/wiki/reagent-processor) to make [Carbon Powder](/wiki/carbon-powder), an item needed for black [Spray Paint](/wiki/spray-paint).
### Uranium
Currently there doesn't seem to be a use for uranium.
Not even the [Nuclear battery](/wiki/battery-cell) contains it in its recipe.
## Frozen Gas
Frozen gases like the oxites, volatiles, and Ice will melt if the external temperature is above 0C. If the planet or moon you are on does not have an atmosphere, the sun will also be a source of heat and will melt these frozen gases if not inside a [Mining_Belt](/wiki/mining-belt)
### Oxite
Ice is extremely sensitive to temperature and will sublimate to gas even with minimal exposure to heat - such as being held in hand. Melting in a furnace will release [O2](/wiki/oxygen) and [N2](/wiki/nitrogen).
### Volatiles
Volatile ice is extremely sensitive to temperature and will sublimate to gas even at the slightest exposure to heat - such as being held in hand.
### Ice
Ice is extremely sensitive to temperature and will sublimate to gas even at the slightest exposure to heat at 0 degrees Celcius or above, including being held in hands.
